Livestream Auction Host / Sales Presenter

About American Thrift
This is a full-time, on-camera sales position for someone who enjoys connecting with people, presenting merchandise, and making thrift finds exciting. The host will help choose the merchandise featured during each livestream, prepare the show lineup, present products, engage viewers, answer questions, and encourage bidding.
You do not need to know every clothing or fashion brand. However, you must be excited about thrifting, willing to learn, comfortable thinking quickly, and able to describe products confidently and honestly.
Career Summary
This is a full-time position requiring open and flexible availability. The schedule may vary based on business and livestream needs and may include weekdays, evenings, and occasional Saturdays.
Working hours include merchandise selection, show preparation, livestream setup, hosting, and post-show organization.

Responsibilities
- Review available merchandise and select items to feature during each livestream.
- Organize selected merchandise into an engaging show lineup.
- Review product labels, sizes, measurements, condition, features, and visible flaws before going live.
- Host livestream auctions with confidence, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
- Present merchandise clearly by showing important details, including the front, back, labels, fabric, fit, measurements, and condition.
- Welcome viewers, answer product questions, encourage bidding, and maintain the energy and pace of the show.
- Respond naturally to unexpected questions and changing situations during live broadcasts.
- Provide helpful styling suggestions and explain what makes each item interesting.
- Work with the support team to keep merchandise, auction listings, and sold items properly identified and organized.
- Assist with livestream preparation, equipment setup, and post-show organization.
- Learn about clothing, fashion brands, vintage pieces, and thrift merchandise.
- Follow American Thrift Stores’ customer-service, product-presentation, and merchandise-disclosure standards.
- Apply coaching and feedback to improve presentation, pacing, product knowledge, and sales performance.
Requirements
- Comfortable, confident, and natural on camera.
- Charismatic, welcoming, and able to maintain positive energy throughout a livestream.
- Strong verbal communication and customer-service skills.
- Able to think quickly and communicate clearly without a prepared script.
- Comfortable presenting and selling products to an online audience.
- Interested in thrifting, clothing, fashion, resale, or online shopping.
- Excited to learn about unfamiliar brands and merchandise.
- Honest and detail-oriented when describing products and disclosing their condition.
- Organized, dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Able to multitask while presenting products and interacting with viewers.
- Open to coaching and able to apply feedback.
- Able to work a full-time schedule with open and flexible availability.
Education & Experience
Experience in livestreaming, retail sales, online sales, social media, content creation, public speaking, entertainment, fashion, or customer service is preferred but not required.
A large social media following is not required.
