Career Summary

American Thrift Stores are growing, and this is a great opportunity for motivated, high-performing retail professionals looking to advance into a leadership position with great growth potential! A Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing operations, supervising personnel, and creating ways to increase store sales.


  • Manage the areas of merchandise, operations, customer service, and human resources tasks
  • Develop creative plans to increase store sales
  • Ensure every customer has a positive shopping experience
  • Hire, train, supervise, and develop a large team
  • Assist in maintaining positive morale among staff


  • 2-4 years minimum of retail leadership experience as an Assistant or Store Manager
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and follow-through skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Organization skills and computer skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree-desired
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods standing and working on cash registers or related equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be flexible to work on weekends and some holidays.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.
